cutting edge ecommerce

A 360 degree shoppable site. Sass and Bide is based in Australia and introduced this beautiful campaign with model Aline Weber, shot by Terry Gates. It takes a long time to load as it is a large site, but once it does, do not miss falling down the rabbit hole and landing at the bottom where the flat images emerge into a real space around you. Then you get to move around and shop the collection – click on the name to get to a product landing page – to make for a very cool ecommerce shopping experience. Nicely executed, now happy shopping!

Le Labo

Amazing website design | so excited to discover this!

It’s a creative piece in itself to just play around with the site. There are so many layers of information but it’s organized and cohesive. I love the look and the quirky voice of the copy. Well done.

Now, I would just love to try these scents and candles.

Frank Chimero. This designer and writer shows us a great portfolio site full of his inspirations, interests, a link to his blog/writings, as well as books on his recommended reading list. I love that he has elaborated on his beliefs on design and explains his design process because it influences how he looks at the world and how he proceeds with his projects.

I love the flow of the homepage- super unexpected when I first scrolled down and objects began to move up or down in different speeds. He also uses a simple color system that is a nice indicator of which area of his site you are on. All in all, great portfolio site that is different than any I’ve seen before, without asking too much of the viewer.

websites that are #winning

I have this site in my favorites tab.

On occasion I will visit it for inspiration and a great soundtrack. Orba Squara is a band with some amazing talent. This website is a sort of memoir of a road trip the band took and it captures images, scenes, and various things they came across on the journey. It is no boring slideshow of pictures but an amazing tribute to what it feels like to be on the road (awesome horizontal scroll which changes its speed wherever you hold the mouse!). It is also amazingly creative the way the typography plays into the images and I love so many of the quotes used. This is no simple website, it is really impressive and I hope you check it out and appreciate it the way I do 🙂

A commercial featuring Orba Squara’s music. Perfect background tunes!

An architectural firm in Brooklyn with a fabulous name, uncanny style, unbelievable work ethic, and a dynamic duo (+ Ryan who is the best)- it is my sister and her husband after all 🙂

They just launched their brand new site with an online store. Check out their chandeliers and wall lighting! Play around on the site- there is so much to discover- and bookmark it for when you are ready to hire them for your dream home!

They have been recognized in The New York Times, Details, Dwell, Elle Decor France, and Elle Decor (US) in September. I will put a posting of the spreads up when it comes out.

websites that are #winning

In this day and age, I’m sorry, but if you have a bad website, it reflects that you (1) have poor style (2) are out of date and thus have an out of date product that most of us will look past (3) don’t care enough, and thus this will look poorly for your business…

this is why I will be posting when I find sites that do an AWESOME job.

It makes the whole experience so much better!

First example: and they are a design firm, so they are obviously #winning in this department but I have to share because it is unique, fun, and professional
